Since our start in 1993, Barrus(elephant in Latin) has been located in Verijärve, the woodlands of Võru County, South-East Estonia. Our elephant-like confidence and industriousness has made us the market leader for glued and laminated timber components within Europe. Barrus´s main focus is on wooden window and door industry, but not limited.

Notable events in Barrus’ 30-year history
2022
30 years of operation
Barrus, soon 30 years old, produces 115 000 m3 glued laminated timber annually and has an excellent 350-strong team.
2021
The third factory
Barrus launches its third factory for finger-jointed glued laminated timber.
2016
Barrus develops
The production volume is 60 000 cubic metres, the company has 200 employees.
2013
The second factory
A second factory of finger-jointed glued laminated timber is launched.
2011
The production continues to grow
The production of glued laminated timber in 2011 was ca 1,25 times that of the previous year, almost 30 000 cubic metres.
2002
The largest company in Võru County
View over Barrus’s facility on a spring evening in 2002. Important employer – AS Barrus started out with 154 employees in 2002. With this, the company was among the largest employers in the entire Võru County. In 2002, the sawmill steadily produced approx. 3000 cubic metres of products per month. A large part of those were ultimately sold as roof battens.
1993
Remodelling into a woodworking factory
september 21 of 1993 we purchased our building in verijärve. remodeling started on day of purchase and production was able to begin on june 21 1994.
